Well on a very wet June day to go to any meeting is better than being outside - and given cup cakes! Alas they weren't filled with Japanese knotweed jam.
This time of year if you want to steam the leaves and put them in a salad they are supposed to be really tasty... I have to be honest they taste worse than ropey raw spinach. Feel free to have a try and see if you agree. (Though not if any chemicals have been on the plant!!)
