new japanese knotweed bromley

I have to admit, I'm not the speediest on updating my website.. But I was very excited on the 26th February 2026 when I spotted a little shoot. As you can see from the photograph the plant is very red! For a good herbicide application I will need to wait until late May. By then that young small shoot of Japanese knotweed will probably grow to 1.2 - 1.5m tall.

It may not be your favourite plant, but it is impresive in its speed to grow this time of year.

Anyway here is to a less wet March!
