I recently was asked about the Japanese knotweed in an area near Bromley. When I visited - yes there was Japanese knotweed, but also a very happy Ash tree - that had been mistaken for the same plant.
Here you can see the Japanese knotweed in the bottom right. It has different shaped leaves to the Ash shown in the left.
